Dr. Tarun Sahni is a graduate of the Armed Forces Medical College following which he was a member of the Indian Navy for over a decade before taking voluntary release to pursue his dreams. He later was employed in the UK as well as the UAE before returning to India to create India’s first private hyperbaric therapy facility at the Apollo Hospital Delhi in the year 2000. It is where he currently runs. Dr. Sahni is regarded to be”the “father of modern hyperbaric medicine in India” and has published more than 25 papers as well as chapters from books. In recognition of his contribution to research and education in the area of Diving & Hyperbaric Medicine, He has been awarded an honorary title “Adjunct Professor?” from the Apollo Hospital & Educational Research Foundation. The Apollo Hospital & Educational Research Foundation also mentions him in the Limca book of records from 2000.
